LED

ioda light, or better known as the LED (light-emitting diode) is a semiconductor which emit light that is not coherent monokromatik when given the forward voltage.
Symptoms include elektroluminesensi form. Color produced depends on the semiconductor material used, and can be near ultraviolet or near infrared.
An LED is a semiconductor similar dioda special. As a normal dioda, LED chip consists of a semiconductor material that filled in full, or the light bulb, with ketidakmurnian to create a structure called the PN Junction. -Cargo carrier - electrons and holes flow to the Junction of the electrode with different voltage. When the electrons meet the holes, he fell to the energy level is lower, and release energy in the form of a photon.
Wavelength of light that emanated, and therefore the color, depending on the difference of the energy band of material that form the PN Junction. Dioda a normal, usually made of Silicon or germanium, emit visible light near infrared, but the materials used for an LED have a difference between the energy band near infrared light, visible, ultraviolet and near.
LED development began with infrared and red instrument made with gallium arsenide. Perkembagan in material science has enabled the production equipment with a wavelength shorter, produce light with colors vary.
Conventional LED made from the mineral inorganik vary, the colors are as follows:
• aluminum gallium arsenide (AlGaAs) - red and infrared
• gallium aluminum phosphide - green
• gallium arsenide / phosphide (GaAsP) - red, orange-red, orange, and yellow
• gallium nitride (Gan) - green, pure green (or emerald green), and blue
• gallium phosphide (GAP) - red, yellow, and green
• zinc selenide (ZnSe) - blue
• indium gallium nitride (InGaN) - kebiruan green and blue
• indium gallium aluminum phosphide - orange-red, orange, yellow, and green
• Silicon carbide (SIC) - blue
• diamond (C) - ultraviolet
• silicon (Si) - blue (under development)
• sapphire (Al2O3) - blue
[edit] blue and white LED
An ultraviolet LED Gan
The first blue LED that can reach the substrate using commercial information galium nitrida found by Shuji Nakamura in 1993 when career in Japan at Nichia Corporation. LED is popular in the later years of the 90's. This blue LED can be combined to red and green LED that has been there before to create white light.
LED light with the white majority is now made to the way frost galium nitrida substrate (Gan) with yellow phosphorus. Because yellow stimulate recipient red and green in the human eye, a combination of colors from yellow phosphorus and blue from the substrate will give an impression of white color for the human eye.
White LED can also be made with the phosphor blue coat, red and green in the ultraviolet near the substrate more or less the same way working with light fluoresen.
Methods to create white light from the LED is not using phosphorus at all but zinc selenida using substrate that can emit blue light from the active area and the yellow light from the substrate itself.
